Looking for: Methos, his Quickening is the lightest
Once upon a time, I read a fic in which Methos was utterly convinced that his was the darkest quickening in existance, but then he took a head in front of Joe and MacLeod and they saw that it was actually the purest and lightest - or something to that effect. I've been searching for this fic for ages, and I thought I was on the right track with a reference made in Corwalch's InBetween - a Stargate/Highlander fic referencing strange events that may have occured in a preceeding fic (the name Mael, a referenced battle/death, Duncan witnessing Methos' Light Quickening 'a second time'.) but I haven't had any luck in uncovering what or where that preceeding fic might be.

If anyone knows the fic I'm searching for, or knows where it may have been, I'd be grateful for directions. :)

Hope this helps
This is a different series and the story doesn't jive with all the details you mentioned but Methos did have a light quickening that Joe thought would be dark.

Summary: What did Duncan see in Methos' soul that makes him think the Ancient can handle a Dark Quickening?

That is actually the exact one I was looking for! I guess I got confused with the references in Cowalch's story that I thought they were related. Pity, really, I would've liked to read their apparent referenced prequel. Thanks Rosadina.

I think I can explain the confusion. Cowalch's stargate crossover fic exists in the same universe as the Restoration series. Cowalch borrowed the concepts (with permission) from the story you were looking for, that is why the light quickening reference is familiar. So no you weren't confused:) Hope that helps.

That makes a heck of a lot of sense! Thanks.
